A big thank you to the car owner! Finally, I got a commission for an EVA design, and what’s even more exciting is that I received two at once—Asuka and Rei. I went with a red and a blue theme, because after all, red and blue are a classic pairing, right? The client specifically requested the long-haired version of Rei, which took a bit of time to find the perfect image, but I’m really happy with how it turned out. This design definitely sets itself apart from typical itasha styles.
Particularly in the rear section of the car, I used overlapping colors and fonts, with the red and blue clashing dramatically as they transition from Rei’s image. This contrast sweeps away the clarity from the front and highlights the hidden passion Rei carries within her heart.
The car is scheduled for wrapping next week, and I’ll update you all with real-car photos once it’s done. Please stay tuned!
