This commission comes from a true Princess Zelda fan! Her car was already filled with all kinds of Zelda-themed decorations—it was absolutely awesome.
The design draws entirely from Zelda’s appearance in Tears of the Kingdom. Each side of the car plays out like a mural, telling the story of her guarding the broken Master Sword. The moment I saw these two illustrations, I knew they were destined for this car.
On the hood, we positioned the Silent Princess flower surrounding the sword-wielding Zelda, creating a regal, composed, and elegant presence.
One of the most creative parts is the trunk—credit to the client’s own imagination! We transformed the trunk into a conceptual Zonai Device Dispenser, and she even bought a physical capsule knob to stick onto it. Such a brilliant touch!
During the design process, I did try backgrounds inspired by Mucha’s Art Nouveau style and the Jomon-inspired textures from Tears of the Kingdom, but due to practical constraints, we had to let those ideas go—one small regret.
