As a passionate Final Fantasy XIV player and itasha designer, few projects spark as much joy as collaborating with a fellow fan to bring Eorzea to life. When a car owner commissioned a BMW Z4 wrapped in an FF14 Au Ra theme, I was thrilled. Teaming up with a talented artist, we crafted a design blending Good Smile Racing’s vibrant style with the game’s mystical essence.
The car owner envisioned a bold, GSR-inspired look rooted in FF14’s lore. The Au Ra, with their dragon-like horns and scales, became the centerpiece, brought to life through the artist’s stunning artwork. The Astrologian job took focus, with celestial motifs—stars, moons, and tarot card patterns—flowing across the Z4’s curves. Subtle job-related Easter eggs from the game were added, delighting FF14 fans without overshadowing the main theme.
A highlight was crafting a custom logo, merging my cryroc signature with FF14’s crystal and star motifs, creating a unique emblem that ties the design together and marks its authenticity. Wrapping the Z4’s sleek, curved surfaces was a challenge, but close collaboration with the wrapping team ensured a flawless finish.
Seeing the completed itasha was pure magic. This BMW Z4, adorned with Au Ra artistry and celestial details, is a rolling tribute to FF14. I can’t wait for the car owner to share it with the community!
